Indeed, that is a bottle cap you see stuck in the patient's esophagus.
Diagnosis: Foreign Body in Esophagus.
Removal of this foreign body will be difficult and may be dangerous to the patient due to its sharp edges. The most feared complication is mediastinitis - evidenced by chest or interscapular pain, fever and tachycardia.
Ouch...that must have been one hearty meal! :) He swallowed a whole bottlecap! I wonder how it was removed...
ReplyDeletethe Xrays showed a round shape foreign body at the trachea. i think he had just swallow a bottle cap.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a bottle cap stucked at the esophagus since the foreign body seems to look like having jagged edges and it is round.
