A 35yr-old man injured his right pinna in a fall 1 week ago and applied an antiseptic solution to his ear. Subsequently he developed this painless but itchy lesion.

hmmm...weird comments creeping up here, Mr Yap :) Anywhere, here's my attempt:-
A1: the lesion consists of maculopapular rash involving the whole external ear and the surrounding skin and scalp. There are also erosions around the helical and antihelical folds with yellowish purulent discharge. The nape of the neck appears normal.
A2: acute dermatitis of the right ear secondary to an adverse drug reaction (hypersensitivity)
A3: withhold the medication that he was using on the ear. maintain hygiene and prescribe aqueus cream with/without mild topical steroid cream (e.g. beclomethasone). Add on antihistamines to reduce itching. Advise against future application of unknown drugs :)
could be steven johnson syndrome
Fungal otitis externa....... Itching, blotted paper appearance and use of antibiotics .....Antibiotics cause acidic pH and inhibition of bacteria resulting in fungal infection....
Probably candida ...... Culture needed
