Nasal deformity
This is a middle-aged construction worker who had a septal abscess drained 2 weeks prior to this photo. What type of deformity do you see in his external nose?
What could be other causes of this deformity?

Saddle Nose??? Not very sure.
Is it a saddle nose due to necrosis of the septal cartilage?
Yes, this is a SADDLE NOSE DEFORMITY.
And yes, also to the second answer - it is due to necrosis of the nasal septum, enough to compromise the supporting struts to the external nose structure.
Other causes (besides a septal hematoma/abscess) are septal perforation and granulomatous diseases of the nose (eg. Syphillis, Wegener's disease, T-cell lymphoma, etc.)
Saddle Nose
1.Necrosis secondary to septal abscess
2.Excessive removal of septum durin SMR oepration
3.Depressed fracture of nasal bone
